Babette's Quick Start Guide to Theory For Fiddlers

Book One for the Beginning Fiddler -- Newly Revised!

Book Two for the Intermediate Fiddler

I wanted a method for my students that easily relates theory to the instrument they are holding in their hands.

This is applicable theory as it relates to the violin.  Even though the material is easy to read, the lessons should be played on the violin.  Short worksheets accompany the lessons in each book.  Because of the innovative nature of my approach, many of my students can play the answer to the questions, before they can voice the answer.

Book Two is a continuation of Book One.  It is not recommended that you skip Book One.  Even though you may have a grasp of theory, it is important that you understand my approach.  Several of my students have had music theory in the past, but were unable to relate it to the violin.  Book One begins that process.

Book One is designed to give the beginning fiddler the tools needed to play with family and friends.

"Hi Babette:  I think your book is great and I will certainly be recommending it to people." -- Eileen Walter, fiddler, teacher, contest judge

"Babette has provided me with the missing piece to the 'theory puzzle' for young violinists." -- Carol Harrison, teacher, violinist

"Such a common-sense approach, and the format is attractive and easy to follow.  Let me know when the second book is available.": -- Dicksie Schmitt, teacher, violinist

The revision to Book One gives a worksheet to each lesson and review questions are included on almost every worksheet.
